On Monday 1st December, all graduating students from Brisbane's School of Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedicine attended the 2014 22nd Fabiola Oration and Convocation award ceremony.
The event was well attended by over 200 students, ACU staff, dignitaries and representatives from industry partners and healthcare organisations.
Every graduating student was presented with an ACU badge, and a number of special awards were presented to students who had excelled in their chosen course.
An inspiring speech was delivered by Donna Bonney, Director of Learning and Development at Mater Health Services, Chief Executive Officer at Mater Education, Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Queensland and Clinical Associate Professor at Australian Catholic University.
Donna has over 20 years of experience as a clinician, educator, manager and leader in both public and private healthcare organisations. As the Director of Learning and Development at Mater Health Services, Donna currently leads a large and diverse team of education professionals and is responsible for the organisation-wide teaching and learning strategy, planning, execution and evaluation. As CEO of Mater Education, a private RTO, she is also responsible for the design and delivery of nationally recognised qualifications and a suite of clinical education programs for the ongoing professional development of the healthcare workforce. Donna has a number of undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications in the areas of nursing, clinical education, workplace training, project management and education.
