New Health Sciences courses for 2015


The Bachelor of Social Work (4 year program) will be offered at the Brisbane, Canberra and Strathfield campuses from Semester 1, 2015. Unlike the Bachelor of Social Work (2 year program), the 4 year program is open to school leavers, and allows students to focus on social work coursework from the beginning of their degree. More

The Bachelor of Paramedicine will be extending its course availability to include the ACU North Sydney Campus from Semester 1, 2015. In addition a Bachelor of Paramedicine (Honours) will be offered on the Ballarat, Brisbane, Canberra and Melbourne campuses from 2015. This will provide students with an avenue for Higher degree research for the growing numbers of graduates from the Bachelor of Paramedicine and combined Bachelor of Nursing/Paramedicine programs.



The Faculty of Health Sciences is offering three new postgraduate programs in Semester 1, 2015.

Master of Paramedicine
ACU’s suite of postgraduate Paramedicine programs is aimed at paramedics that are entering the workforce, or who are already in the workforce and who do not hold formal postgraduate qualifications but who wish to refresh their skills and knowledge.

The programs are delivered online and are available full-time and part-time with a coursework or dissertation stream. More

Master of Rehabilitation
The Master of Rehabilitation suite of programs aims to provide evidence-based advanced studies for registered Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech Pathologists, who seek to extend their knowledge and skills in the fields of aged and neurological rehabilitation.

The course is delivered online with residential components in Brisbane, Qld, Sydney (North Sydney), NSW and Melbourne, Vic. More

Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Simulation Education

The ACU Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Simulation Education is an advanced program that aims to expand the knowledge and skills required for contemporary simulation practice. Graduates of this program should be able to design, deliver and evaluate innovative and effective simulation-based learning, teaching and assessment activities that consider the cultural, social, ethical and spiritual dimensions of healthcare education. This program combines sound educational theory with an evidence-based focus to meet the needs of the learner, education institutions, the healthcare industry and other organisations that embrace the use of simulation in healthcare.

Course duration: 1 year part time

Fees: $7800.000 (fees correct at time of publication).

Available in mixed mode: online with on-campus workshops held at the Brisbane, Melbourne and North Sydney campuses. Students must have access to a simulation learning environment; or seek special entry approval from the National Head of School, School of Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedicine.
