Karen-leigh Edward was recognised with the Emerging Leader Award at the Catholic Health Australia awards dinner this week. The clinical and academic partnership enables ACU and the hospital to look at social, ethical and religious elements in teaching, research and service delivery.
Dr Edward is a registered nurse with a degree in psychology. She has received international recognition for her work and has more than 100 published works focussing on patient-centred, evidence-based care. Some areas of research she has worked on include perinatal depression in parents and surgical services with patient-centred care.
