The Ferno Australia Paramedic Simulation Challenge (FernoSim) was held at ACU’s Melbourne campus during the 2017 Student Paramedic International Conference. The Challenge is a 15-minute, scenario-based event that tests each team’s ability to manage multiple patients with varying illnesses or injuries in front of a large audience of their peers.

Dr Joe Perry, Senior Lecturer in Nursing and Lyn Taylor, Lecturer in Nursing at ACU played an important role within the medical team at the recent motorcycle grand prix at Phillip Island. ACU students and alumni (nurses, paramedics or dual degree students) also made up a large majority of the team, and their contributions were instrumental to the safe and effective running of the team and event.
