Faculty to welcome new Executive Dean

The Faculty of Education will welcome a new Executive Dean, Professor Claire Wyatt-Smith, in June 2013. Professor Wyatt-Smith joins us from Griffith University where she has served as Group Dean (Academic) in the Faculty of Arts, Education and Law and previously as Dean of the Faculty of Education. A respected scholar, particularly in regard to literacy and assessment, Professor Wyatt-Smith's experience in attracting research funding and working with both state and national governments will prove valuable to the Faculty as it moves into the future.

The Faculty looks forward both to working with Professor Claire Wyatt-Smith, and to being able to recognise the achievements and leadership of outgoing Executive Dean, Professor Marie Emmitt.

ACU Education is one of Australia's largest and most complex education faculties. In her nine plus years as Executive Dean, Professor Emmitt has been formative in leading its development and growth. Her leadership has seen the introduction of contemporary courses, a growing research profile and key partnerships domestically and internationally.
