Professor Tania Aspland is the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Education and Arts at ACU. Appointed as Faculty Executive Dean in late 2014, Tania has also held the positon of National Head of Education and Head of Education NSW/ACT at ACU. Prior to ACU, Professor Aspland was a Professor in Education at the University of Adelaide.
She has been a leader in course development in Teacher Education for many years and has been engaged in a number of research projects in higher education pedagogies in teacher education; undergraduate and graduate courses; particularly in relation to professional standards and evidence based assessment.
Evidenced by her appointment as the President of the Australian Council of Deans of Education in 2014, Professor Aspland is well-regarded in the profession and within the education sector in Australia.
Tania Aspland has developed an international reputation for community capacity building in Papua New Guinea, Singapore, Hong Kong, The Philippines, and Vietnam. She has evidenced-based success with action learning as a project based learning strategy in developing countries. Tania Aspland has been employed in off shore contexts in the field of curriculum development, curriculum evaluation and thesis supervision. She has expertise in professional learning, mentoring and leadership in both higher education and the schooling sectors.
