Education staff recognised for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning

ACU Education leads the way with three out of seven 2012 ACU Citations awarded to Education staff across Melbourne and Strathfield campuses. 

Dr Jan Kane and Mrs Miriam Tanti (Strathfield), and Mr Adam Staples (Melbourne) were the 2012 recepients of the ACU Citations for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning.

Mrs Tanti was also awarded the Vice-Chancellor’s Award for outstanding contribution to student learning over and above the significant and sustained contribution required for the citation. (Joint award with Mr Stephen Guinea, Faculty of Health Sciences)

Details of the citations are:
  • Dr Jan Kane - For sustained and high quality contribution to leadership in the professional development of teacher education students, promoting reflective practice, innovative pedagogy and motivating curriculum.
  • Mrs Miriam Tanti - For utilisation of contemporary theories of learning, innovative pedagogical approaches and ICT that have supported, influenced and motivated students.
  • Mr Adam Staples - For innovative use of learning technologies which is supported by highly positive feedback and by maximum subscription to online and face-to-face units.
The ACU Learning and Teaching Citations are designed to recognise and reward staff who have made a significant contribution to student learning at the University.
