Arts Festival on the Brisbane Campus

The Brisbane Campus was transformed during the final week of Semester 2, 2012 with the School of Arts and Sciences (Qld) Arts Festival.

The School hosted a plethora of creative arts events showcasing their best visual arts, drama and music students. The week commenced with Dr Delyse Ryan’s drama students taking a contemporary Shakespearian Idol competition performance to St Margaret’s College year 5 students.

The ACU Brisbane Choir joined with the Saints & Singers Choir from St Peter’s Lutheran College, Indooroopilly in a Variety of Voices Concert under the leadership of Lecturer Judy Fromyhr. The choir concert raised $400 for Breast Cancer research.

Visual Arts students displayed their final artwork in an end of year exhibition under the mentorship of artist and lecturer Alasdair Macintyre. The week concluded with Dr Tracey Sanders' drama students performing three shows of Snow White & the Magnificent Seven Dwarfs which was set in the wild west. Year 2 students from St Kevins, Geebung joined in the fun of one of the performances.

All the events were extremely successful and well attended with large audiences.  This was a magnificent week highlighting the wonderful and emerging talent from students in the Arts and Sciences.
