Education and Arts
Alasdair Macintyre from the School of Arts, Brisbane was a finalist in this year's Archibald Salon des Refuses Exhibition with his portrait, Self portrait in the studio.
Each year an 'alternative' selection of 30 portraits are selected from over 800 entries in the Archibald Prize competition to form the Archibald Salon des Refuses Exhibition.
The Salon des Refuses Exhibition, administrated by the Art Gallery of New South Wales, has an excellent reputation with a selection criteria based on quality, diversity, humour and experimentation.
As well as covering themes such as contemporary art practices, different approaches to portraiture and artist's responses to the landscape.
