A festival of musical, theatrical and visual art displays

Each year, the Brisbane Campus celebrates the end of Semester 2 with a festival of musical, theatrical and visual art displays hosted by the School of Arts.

The week commenced with the 2D & 3D Visual Arts Students’ final assessment pieces on display across the Campus.

ACU Brisbane Choir, directed by Judy Fromyhr, continued the week’s festivities with “A Variety of Voices” concert in the Campus Chapel on Wednesday 21 October. The choir, conducted by David Webster, was joined by local guest choir, Scomodo Voce Singers. More than 100 guests enjoyed a lively program and raised close to $600 for Epilepsy Queensland.

Throughout the week, Dr Delyse Ryan’s Australian drama students created a dynamic range of self-directed performances based on significant Australian plays. Innovative and artistic interpretations of plays such as The Removalists, The Female of the Species, The 7 Stages of Grieving, Secret Bridesmaid’s Business and Children of the Black Skirt were presented in the Black Box Drama Studio on Tuesday 27 October 2015.

Dr Tracey Sanders’ advanced level students entertained local primary school children and over 100 children and adults in two performances of The Wizard of OZ.
