2013 Clancy Prize for Religious Art

Selected artworks from the annual Clancy Prize for Secondary School Religious Art competition were exhibited in the McGlade gallery at the Strathfield campus from 18 March – 12 April 2013.

This year's theme was based on the words of Mary MacKillop "There, where you are, you will find God" (1871).

Faculty of Arts and Sciences Honorary Fellow, Sr Rosemary Crumlin has been one of the judges since the inaugural exhibition in 1999. She said "the theme 'God is everywhere' really came alive" in the entries received this year.

Along with Sr Rosemary, the 2013 Clancy Prize panel of judges comprised Mgr Tony Doherty, former Dean of St Mary's Cathedral, Lachlan Warner, Senior Lecturer in Visual Arts and curator of the McGlade gallery, and Dr Karen Maras, Senior Lecturer in Visual Arts Education.

Among the ten awards given this year was the ACU School of Arts and Sciences Award given to Brigidine College Randwick Year 7 students for their collaborative work 'There where we are, we find God';  to De La Salle Catholic College Caringbah Year 9 students for their collaborative work 'A Spiritual Quest; and to St Patrick's College Sutherland.
