The research manager manages ICPS grants and finances as well as contributes to ICPS research and evaluation projects. Jane’s background is in public health research focusing on health promotion and community development approaches to HIV prevention. Jane previously worked in supported accommodation and youth services which led to an interest in community development. While undertaking a Masters in Health Promotion at La Trobe University evaluating HIV related health and education policy, Jane undertook field work in Japan on a Japanese government Monbusho scholarship. This led to a PhD at the University of Tokyo and subsequent work as a research associate conducting surveillance and evaluation of gay community based HIV prevention in Japan for seven years. After returning to Canberra in 2012, Jane has worked in research management and policy roles in blood borne viruses and sexually transmissible infections, infection control, advanced practice nursing, and child protection.
