Located in the Faculty of Theology and Philosophy, the Centre for Early Christian Studies focusses on New Testament and Late Antique studies, and represents the largest concentration of Patristic scholars within Australia.
The Centre reaches out via its networks to colleagues in Japan, Korea, Siberia, South America, and South Africa, resulting in fruitful professorial exchanges and mutually successful grants in Australia, Japan and Korea, as well as collaborative and linked research projects. In conjunction with St Pauls Press the Centre publishes the Early Christian Studies monograph series, is a major participant in regional meetings of the Asia Pacific Early Christian Studies Society (APECSS), and organises the three-yearly international conference Early Christian Centuries.
