New Evangelisation - Professional Development for Catholic Schools

The Australian Catholic University's Institute for Advancing Community Engagement (IACE), in partnership with Kate Howard Consulting, has developed the program, 'A Heart that Sees', to support schools in the significant areas of faith formation and youth ministry.

Purpose

The purpose of the program is to assist schools through Professional Development of staff in:

  • Faith Formation
  • New Evangelisation
  • Service Learning

Flexible Delivery

'A Heart that Sees' program delivery is flexible enabling schools to choose the level of participation that best suits their staff and community. There are 3 modules:

  • Module 1 'The Gospel Call to Service' considers the concept of justice and service within the context of the Gospels and Church teaching.
  • Module 2 'Catholic Schools in Mission' explores the principles and practice of justice and service in Catholic education generally and schools specifically.
  • Module 3 'A Way of Living our Mission' considers service learning within the light of individual school's mission and supports each school in developing strategies for reciprocal service as part of this mission.
