Tips for the interview

Interviews for shortlisted applicants may be held in person, by telephone, or by video conference.

An interview panel at ACU National typically comprises 3 to 5 people depending on the position and the interview will normally take between 30 minutes to an hour.

Should you be invited to attend an interview you will be sent an email requesting you book yourself into an available interview time in the interview schedule.  Interviews are normally held on one of the University’s campuses, for information on the location of the interview or access to parking, please refer to the following website Campus Maps.

Prior to attending an interview it is recommended that you familiarise yourself with the selection criteria for the position, as the selection committee will ask you questions during the interview so as to assess your work experiences and qualifications against the selection criteria. You should also prepare examples illustrating your ability to address the key requirements of the role.

(a)  Documentation to bring to the interview

 

When you are invited to attend an interview you will be asked to bring along an original and copy (or copy certified by a Justice of the Peace) of:

·  Any qualifications, professional memberships/ certifications/ accreditations you have claimed as being held;

·  Australian Birth Certificate or Passport with relevant visa stamps or labels; and

·   Any additional items as stated on the invitation, such as documentation relating to a Working With Children Check 

(b)  Appointment Decision Notification

 

If recommended for appointment, you will be contacted by telephone and a formal letter of offer will be issued as soon as possible after the recommendation has been approved.

 

If you are unsuccessful in being recommended for the position following an interview, you will be notified after the recruitment and selection processes has been completed.

 

(c)  Check Your Progress and Manage Your Applications

It is possible to check your progress at any time by logging in as an existing applicant.  It's where you go to view all your applications, print or email your application form, complete or withdraw applications, update your personal details, change your password or remove your whole account.
