Honorary Distinguished Visiting Research Fellowship Scheme
The university has established an Honorary Distinguished Visiting Research Fellowship Scheme within the Institute for the Advancement of Research for internationally recognised scholars to visit ACU National for a short period of time for the purposes of research collaboration, consultation and participation in any designated research strengths.
Internal research grant schemes
ACU IRIS Grants
The ACU National Industry Research Incentive Scheme (IRIS) provides seed funding for researchers to initiate collaborative links with industry and community partners and supports high quality research projects that require a pilot or exploratory study.
ACU Large Research Grants
Unsuccessful applicants for ARC Large Grants and SPIRT Collaborative Grants will automatically be considered for an ACU Large Grant. Decisions on ACU Large Grants will be made at a meeting of the ACU National Research Grants Committee in November/December, following the results of the ARC Large Grants.
Staff Time Release and Travel Grants
Doctorate Time Release Program
The purpose of the Doctorate Time Release Program is to assist ACU National academic staff at the writing-up stage of a Doctorate thesis by buying out a portion of their teaching time in the final semester before submitting the thesis for examination.
International Conference Travel Grants
Financial assistance is available for members of ACU National staff who are invited to present at international conferences. It is intended that the funds should be used for short visits specifically to attend the international conference at which the staff member will play a significant role.
Outside Studies Program
The Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs), Professor Gabrielle McMullen, has responsibility for the Academic Staff Outside Studies Program (OSP) as part of her portfolio.
The University-wide Academic Staff Outside Studies Program Committee has been in operation since 1996. The Committee meets twice yearly to consider applications for OSP.
For more information on the program, visit the OSP website on the University's Intranet.
