Request a book or book chapter

Here is a self-paced tutorial to help you request an item using the Library catalogue. You will need Flash software to view them. Free Flash software is available to download, follow the icon "software" at the bottom of this screen.
  1. Go to the All ACU campuses catalogue.
  2. Find the book required.
  3. Where possible look for a copy that is not on loan. If all copies are on loan then the first available will be sent or used.
  4. Choose one of the ACU Locations displayed on the right of the screen, click on the link.
  5. Click on the Request link.
  6. If not already signed in, you will be prompted to identify yourself with an ID number and PIN.
  7. Accept the 'Not wanted after' date that keeps the request active for two months, or change the date as required.
  8. For book chapters, enter all details on the form.
  9. Click on the Go button to submit the request.
  10. For book requests, an email from the Library will notify you when the book is ready to be collected. The book will be sent to your home address if you are an off-campus student.
  11. Book chapters will be scanned and emailed to your student email address, unless you enter other directions on the request form.

    NOTE:
    • You cannot request Course Reading and Restricted Loans from other campuses, and off-campus students cannot request any Course Reading and Restricted Loans.
    • You can check the status of your request(s) via the My Library Record option.
    • Videos, DVDs and kits are also available.
