Borrowing at Other Universities

ACU Library participates in several reciprocal borrowing schemes that allow students and staff to borrow from other universities in Australia. Schemes are applied according to the campus you are enrolled at and the university library you wish to use. Please be aware, when participating in any reciprocal borrowing scheme that:
  • your ACU borrower information and loan status will be provided to the host library if requested
  • it is your responsibility to determine and observe the loan conditions set by the host library
  • the library will recover any financial penalties that you may incur

Brisbane, Sydney and Canberra

Staff and students from Brisbane, Sydney and Canberra campuses are eligible to borrow from other universities throughout Australia under the University Library Australia (ULA), national borrowing scheme for Australia's universities. To participate:
  • Register in person at the host library
  • You will require a photo ID and proof of ACU enrollment or employment
  • Charges depend on the host library and range from free to a maximum of $50.00 per annum
  • Your home library record must be clear of fines and overdues
  • Suspension at the host library will mean suspension at ACU as well

Melbourne and Ballarat

Victorian campuses operate under the CAVAL Reciprocal Borrowing Program. To participate:
  • Apply for a CAVAL card from your campus library
  • Your home library record must be clear of fines and overdues
  • Register in person at the host library
  • You will require your CAVAL card and your current ACU National student or staff card
  • Registration is free
