What can I study?

Restricted units

Study Abroad and Exchange students have restrictions for various study areas including Paramedicine, Midwifery and Occupational Therapy.

Community Engagement

ACU offers community engagement placements embedded in curriculum that connects classwork to community action for an invaluable learning experience in service to the common good.

Enrolment guidelines

Credit points

Each ACU unit is worth 10 credit points (CP), this is the equivalent of 7.5 ECTS or 3-4 USA credits.

How many units can I study?

A standard full-time study load is three to four units (30CP to 40CP). Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 30CP and a maximum of 40CP. If you hold a student visa, you can only study online for one third of your total program. This means that if you are enrolled in 30CP/40CP, you can only complete one 10CP course via online study.

Prerequisites

You will need to meet any prerequisite requirements to be eligible to enrol in units. Refer to the ACU Handbook to view unit prerequisites.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Where can I submit my units I would like to study?

You will need to submit at least 6 preferred units in your online application.

Are multimode units classed as online units?

No. You can enrol in as many multimode units as you like, however you can only enrol in one online unscheduled (OU) or online scheduled (OS) unit.

When can I enrol?

ACU Global Learning will pre-enrol you in your preferred units that you have selected at the time of acceptance. Enrolment will commence at least 8 weeks prior to the commencement of semester. Further information will be provided throughout the application process.
